A Peek Into The Next Room

Another Christmas and New Years celebration time has passed. This one was a bit different because we knew that it would most likely be the last one that we would have with family and friends for a few years. We took things as slow as possible and visited with many people. There were some people that we wanted to see over the holidays that we haven't seen yet, but that will come in time. There's a time for everything, right.

As we look forward to what 2005 and 2006 hold for us we are a bit overwhelmed and very excited. Let's see...we will be sharing with new people about the ministry of MAF and our part in it, being apart for the longest time we've been apart so far in our young marriage, sharing what God is doing around the world with people here, packing, moving again, ten weeks of orientation and cultural classes, moving again, two weeks of how to learn a language classes, packing and itemizing everything that we are taking with us, saying Good-bye to everyone here, moving to the other side of the world from everyone and everything that we have every known, praising God for email and satelite phones, going through culture shock, 6-9 months of language school in Indonesia, learning about life in Indonesia, celebrating holidays away from family and friends, making new friends, moving one last time (hopefully), settling into a new home, making more new friends, finding our place in our new town in Indonesia, and praising the Lord for His faithfulness and love through it all.

We will miss everyone here terribly, I'm sure. I know I did when I went to Hungary. I also know that God provided everything that I needed and even some really good friends that are like family now. So, I am looking forward to new faces and new places where God's love can be shown. It won't always be easy or fun, but it will always be best...even when we make some terrible language blunder or just feel like going back to the USA. God has opened this door and we are going to step through it to see what is in the next room. Keep in touch and we'll let you know what's in there. Maybe you will want to explore it, too.
