Food in a Foreign Culture

We are often surprised by strange and unusual foods in these Asian countries. I have eaten everything from monkey meat to wild boar. However, when I ran across this restaraunt in a mall food court, I just had to get a picture.

Here she is. We are so proud. These pictures were both taken when Julia Brooke was only a few minutes old. Isn't she beautiful?

What's up in Singapre?

Well it’s probably high time that I write a blog. My excuse is that we have not had a good internet connection in Singapore until now.

Laura is still hanging in there. We are now just over a week away from our due date of April 4. We have another doctor appointment on Monday to check on the progress of the pregnancy. Since we are just waiting around for this event to happen we are getting quite…..ready. It seems like it’s taking forever to get to the due date.

So, since we are combining our time away from the program with vacation we have done some fun things:

Yesterday we walked to beach on Santosa island after riding the cable car there.
We have walked through just about every mall in Singapore looking at their baby stores
We have gone to two movies: Mr. Bean’s Vacation and Pursuit of Happyness
We have been to the bird park
We have walked through the Singapore Botanical Gardens
We walked around the Chinese Gardens
We saw a Chinese New Year parade on the last day of the Chinese new year
We have ridden the subway just about everywhere that it goes
We have been to church every week but this one
We have put together two jigsaw puzzles
We have read several books

So there you have it. Now the only thing left to do is have a baby. I’ll try to tell you about that just as soon as it happens.
