Pastor Brave

This is a pastor and his family from one of the villages that I frequent. Over the time I've been flying out here, I have been able to get to know this pastor pretty well. This is the family that fed me monkey one day when I was waiting in his village for the weather to improve. Unfortunately, since I am moving soon, I won't get to take him up on his offer to take me hunting or hiking into the virgin jungle.

I took this picture on Thursday, but when I went back to his village on Friday he didn't greet me right after I landed like he usually does. Apparently he was sick in bed with a fever on Friday. I'm sure that he would appreciate your prayers as he leads the people of his village into a deeper relationship with our God.

Bad Weather

The best thing that sometimes happens while I fly is that I have bad weather, and can't get to my destination. When this happens I usually land somewhere else and wait out the weather. Sometimes I wait for hours untill the weather clears. So, why is this so great? It is so great because I have time to talk to my passengers and really get to know them. I realize that every one of my passengers has their own unique story, but rarely do I have the opportunity to discover their stories. When I'm waiting on weather I learn SO MUCH. The man in the photo above just graduated with his masters in seminary. I was taking him on part of his journey back home so that he can minister to his own people. Had I not had bad weather, I never would have found out this incredible family's story.

Real Cereal

The other day Laura found some real cereals at a local store. This may not sound like a big deal but when all that has been available for a couple years is a silly coco cruchy, real cereal is a very big deal.
