Jigsaw Puzzle Time!?!

Today we finished hand carrying all of the I-beams into their rough positions on the dock. We wanted to make sure to get them all onto the dock before the water came up. So, all the outside beams are in position to raise up and we still have to figure out a good way to hang the trusses between them using only home made scaffolding.

Those beams don't look too heavy, but trust me they are. It took 25 people spaced along them in order to carry them.

Flying in East Kalimantan

This is a video made by a fellow pilot in East Kalimantan. These are some of the same airstrips and airplanes that I flew there for a year and a half before moving to PalangkaRaya.

The New Floating Hangar

Well here it is...tons of concrete which is encasing lots of styrofoam. Won't be long and this will be floating. The people you see standing on the dock are the seven people that came here from Nebraska to help us build it. God had to bring so much together in order for this project to work out. It'a amazing that this team not only had a chance to build it, but to finish it and stand on it before leaving.

The next step is to build our building on top of it. The purpose of this building is to be able to have a way of pulling our airplanes out of the water so that we can fix them in the dry. It's going to be awesome.

We are building a massive floating hangar!

Above is the small dock that I helped build last year. As you can see, we proved last year that concrete can indeed float. This week we are finishing up building a much bigger floating dock that will have a hangar on top of it.
As you can see this years dock is three times bigger than last years. It will have a building on top of it so that we can pull the airplanes out of the water and fix them inside of the hangar.

A work team has come from a church in Nebraska to donate their time, energy and work toward this amazing project.

We use several wheel barrows to bring the cement from the truck to where we need to pour it.

We are hoping to be done with all the concrete work by this Friday.
