Fixing and Packing

For the last two weeks I have been working full time performing a major inspection on this airplane. During this time, I completely gutted the interior, change most of the control cables, pulleys, and also worked on the tail.

In these pictures I am removing the elevator. More specifically I am removing the whole tail to fix some corrosion that we found.

Besides working full time doing maintenance I'm also working full time along side Laura packing up our house for our move to another house in town. I thought you might enjoy seeing the size of the pile this week as opposed to the blog I posted last week.

These pictures are taken from roughly the same location in the room as the pictures from last week.

The pile is growing! :) So was this a six? I'm working on a 19 for India. Started on Wednesday, and it's going to be down for a while. Gotta change a gear casting too! :(

Actually it is a 13. For the 185 the 13 is the big one where we loosen all the cables to inspect them. The tail was only a minor inspection, but to troubleshoot a loose stabilator we decided to pull the tail apart too. Turns out the looseness was probably due to a loose bracket.

Charlie Brown is up for a 19 this week. It will be the first one ever where we have been able to pull the gear. We have never had the facilities before.
