Rambutan (Hairy Fruit)



In our yard we have a rambutan tree. The Indonesia word rambut means hair. As you can see in the above picture the fruit does look a little hairy, but don't worry that's only the skin that is hairy, and you don't eat that.



This tree has been feeding us, our neighbors and our friends.



The fruit has a very sweet taste and has the texture of a grape. They are so yummy.




Here is the project for this week. No, not just a dirt patch. This is our garden. As you can see, I already have some good dirt and I fertilized it. We will be growing bell peppers, cabbage, beans, peas, etc. Mostly all are vegetables that we just can't get here in PalangkaRaya.
